Summary

The shape of the landscape and the soil class are the aspects that most influence the performance of precision agriculture, because for the application of this technique is necessary a sampling in well defined areas, from the point of view of the soil. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the landscape on the spatial variability of chemical attributes in Latosols and Argisols, as well as to know the number and the ideal location of the points that increases the precision of the estimates, sample optimization in area under cane- sugar production in Jaboticabal, SP. The soils were sampled at the crossing points of a mesh, making a total of 71 points for the Latosol and 47 for the Argisol. For areas I and II, 105 and 73 points were sampled, respectively. All the studied variables presented spatial dependence, and a greater spatial variability was found for the Latosol. The sample optimization allowed to verify that in areas I and II a densification is necessary to detect the spatial dependence of the chemical attributes studied. With the characterization of the trenches, it can be seen that the Argisol Hematite is more crystallized in relation to the Latosol, indicating a higher growth of this mineral, evidencing that the Argisol is a more evolved soil. The identification and mapping of the shape of the relief in the study areas proved to be very efficient in understanding the causes of the spatial variability of the attributes studied. Therefore, variations in the forms of the relief condition differentiated variability for the chemical attributes of the soil.
